At KLW Plastics, creating sustainable packaging solutions is at the core of our business. Through continuous innovation and process improvement, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and helping our customers achieve their own sustainability goals. Some of our initiatives include:

  • Reducing the amount of plastic used in each container through our Thickness Compensation System (TCS)
  • Minimizing waste by recycling and reusing resin so it does not end up in our landfills
  • Utilizing sustainable, post-consumer resin (PCR) in our E-Tainer® line of products
  • Using a 100% recyclable, corrugated box weighing up to 30% less

We are in continual pursuit of providing sustainable packaging solutions while reducing our carbon footprint and driving energy and resource efficiencies.

Product Innovation

In 2014, KLW began production of the E-Tainer® multi-layer container made of 60-100% post-consumer resin as well as light-weight “hybrid” containers that combine this technology with a corrugated container. The corrugated manufacturing technology allows weight-reduction of up to 30% while maintaining container integrity. Coupled with KLW’s proprietary TCS: Thickness Compensation System, KLW containers use up to 18% less energy during production.

Production Process

Our state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and processes offer efficiencies that allow us to use less energy and less raw materials. Our goal for continual improvement in environmental sustainability is served through our innovative partnerships with suppliers and other industry experts that target clean, energy efficient production with lower environmental impact. Our equipment offers over 300 points of programming that enable control of raw material distribution offering energy and material savings.

Raw Material Recycling
