TCS (Thickness Compensation System) is a proprietary device that provides the ability to form container features with consistent wall thickness, enabling container strength, reliability and full UN rating with less plastic, less weight and less energy use in production.

How TCS Works:
A typical problem of uneven wall thickness in blow-molded containers originates with the different stretching ratios of the parison in the top and bottom sections of the cavity, which cannot be compensated by the standard “axial” parison thickness control. Besides the waste of resin, the extra thickness in localized positions results in a longer cycle time, due to the extra cooling time needed to prevent warpage in these small areas. Instead of an expensive and single-sized flexible die ring, the TCS by Uniloy Milacron works on a different concept to remove the excess of resin at the parting line by dynamic variation of the gap between mandrel and die only in specific angular positions.

TCS Benefits:

  • Reduced Gram Weight by 10%
  • Meets/Exceeds all Industry Standard UN Ratings/Testing
  • Conforms to California’s RPCC Laws
  • Environmentally Friendly
  • Sustainable Package
